IdeasQuest: FAQ - How do we sponsor a new mission?

Welcome to the IDEAS Quest Community

This is a community created by kids for kids. IDEAS Quest empowers kids to engage in science discovery and exploration through projects around the world and the internet. You can join our explorations online and participate with our kid scientists worldwide to explore the world around us. Most of the explorations are created by High School students and are funded by the IDEAS Quest foundation. The kids participating in our projects are primarily elementary age. Select a "mission" that interests you and join us! We are inspired by the notion that each one of us can use his or her imagination to engage in a process of discovery! Many of our projects relate to environmental science and provide you with a way to make a difference with your actions while discovering more about our planet and ourselves!

FAQ - How do we sponsor a new mission?

We are often asked how we select projects that become IDEAS Quest missions and what do we do to sponsor such missions. Generally we receive proposals from high school students and their teachers. Often it is a classroom, helped by their teacher. If you are interested in submitting a proposal please email us at info@theideastudio.com and request more information. If your mission is approved IDEAS Quest will provide financial support to your class room to develop the mission, travel, and multi media equipment to allow you to create your own scientific exploration. In general proposals that will be considered need to develop compelling activities and curriculum for elementary age kids to engage in.

About IDEAS Quest

IDEAS Quest is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering kids to challenge themselves and to explore the limits of their imagination and creativity by engaging in science discovery and experimentation. Founded by scientists, educators and members of the media and based on the revolutionary science education methods developed by the IDEAS Studio, the IDEAS Quest foundation sponsors high school students to create science exploration adventures that elementary school children worldwide can participate into online.

All our programs are based on a simple premise: that the process of discovery is more important for the development of young minds than the discoveries that may result from it. As a result we strive to make all our scientific explorations be adventures that can engage kids in the process of scientific discovery. Often our explorations have no conclusions, and kids can join them at any point and continue the journey of discovery. Often they will discover that learning what does not work is just as important as learning what does. Ultimately we strive to empower kids to become problem solvers, critical thinkers and team players.
